About Us
It all began as a concept. A delivery concept. One that was formulated based upon the need of food service providers to deliver their products fresh with an efficient means of delivery. A delivery system that is custom designed for any aspect of the food service industry.
In 1968, Gary Sample, at the age of 15 began working for a local caterer, commissary and industrial catering route business in the town of East Hartford, Connecticut. By the time he was 18 he was managing the catering trucks, building routes, cooking, catering weddings and other events. At the age of 24, Gary started his own catering business and began redesigning/repairing the trucks to include steam tables, ovens and sinks. Soon after he began designing carts, building trailers, walk in hot trucks and even a trolley car. His business expanded even further when he designed a heated and refrigerated vehicle for a senior nutrition program in Clinton, CT. An exclusive local caterer saw this design and thus the first catering unit was built. Gary's expertise in the food industry grew as he worked with his customer's business' to better understand every aspect of the food service industry from hotels to resorts, restaurants, pizzerias, school systems, elderly nutrition programs, food banks, head start programs, hospitals, bakeries, deli's and the gourmet food business. Gary's business grew as did his designs.
He began exhibiting in a variety of trade shows and expos throughout the country. It was at a Restaurant Show in New York City in 1983 that Gary met Tony Marchetti, President of DeliveryConcepts, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana. DeliveryConcepts, Inc. manufactured the original hot water system used in a fiberglass body called the Hotshot which was designed for the pizza industry. Together, their goal was to expand the product line to fit any facet of the food service industry. Thus began the designs that has created the “Hotshot Delivery Systems” and Delivery Concepts East was formed.
Our experience in the food service industry plus our team of engineers, computer technicians, latest technology and state of the art body manufacturing plant, enables Delivery Concepts to create each Hotshot design that is ultimately specialized to fulfill customer's food transport needs. The possibilities are endless....
