Insulation
A WORD ABOUT OUR INSULATION
What is Spray PolyUrethane Foam (SPF)?
It's the same material used to insulate your home Refrigerator and Freezer (which is only 1inch thickon your home appliance). NASA uses 8 inches of Spray Foam on the Main Booster Rocket of the Space Shuttles (the orange rocket), 8 inches of Spray Foam keeps the Liquid Oxygen Cooled to 420 degrees below 0 Fahrenheit, WITH NO SWEAT. Spray Foam is also used in Automobiles, Packaging, Surfboards, Plastic Moldings, Seat Cushions, Movie Sets, Sculpture and a lot more!
URETHANE CONSERVES ENERGY
Excellent thermal resistance is the primary performance benefit of urethane foam insulation, but it is not the only one.
Urethane also has these advantages.
Sprayed-on foam has the advantage of no seams or joints.
Its closed cell structure makes urethane most effective initially and in the long run.
It has low moisture permeability.
When protected by skins or other covering, urethane will not absorb water. Consequently the thermal conductivity is virtually constant.
Urethane's thermal resistance means that only one thickness of material is needed to adequately do the job.
Where circumstances demand thinner walls, urethane --with its superior insulating capability-- makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the insulation component with no loss of thermal resistance.
Unessesary added thickness of insualtion adds to the bulk & weight of a unit and lessens the amount of usable space and payload.
DON'T BE TAKEN IN BY CLAIMS OF 6 INCHES OF INSULATION
IT MAY BE FILLED IN WITH SCRAPS OF RIGID FOAM LIKE BELOW
AIR GAPS ALLOW FOR AIR INFILLTRATION & THERMAL TRANSFER
